Learning Disability Wales is thrilled with the recent news news from Mencap Cymru that Welsh Government will be funding a new and enhanced Wales Learning Disability Helpline.
The enhanced Wales Learning Disability Helpline will employ three regional caseworkers working across North, Mid & West and South & East Wales; will open more hours; and be able to support people on bank holidays.
Zoe Richards, Chief Executive of Learning Disability Wales, welcomed the news:
“As an organisation working to improve the lives of people with a learning disability we are extremely pleased with the news that the Wales Learning Disability Helpline has secured funding.
“The helpline has been a constant in support services for people with a learning disability and their families for many years and we refer people on a regular basis. The specialist knowledge of the team and open access of the helpline is able to ensure people are supported to access their rights on a daily basis.”
