Photo competition winners

Our photo competition 2018 was held in partnership with Able Radio and was open to anyone living in Wales with a learning disability.

We were looking for pictures on the theme of our annual conference “All our futures” and could be a picture of anything, but must tell a story about how you want your future to be.

64 people from across Wales entered the competition.

The judges awarded prizes for 2 categories and 1 overall winner.

Overall winner

Tristan Lewis was our overall winner for his photograph ‘Follow your Dreams’.

“I love photography, I have chosen this image because it shows that no matter what time of day, I am out taking photos. I set up a timer on my camera and put it on a tripod to take the image of me taking a picture on my phone. My dream and my future will be photography.”

Overall winners prize of a digital SLR camera was kindly donated by Alto Digital.

Most likely to make someone smile

The photo means to me I have a lovely view and I have a lovely smile . It was sunny there, I love taking photos of my self. I would like to learn how to do some different photo . I hope I will get better at photography. The sun was shining on the beach. I like that it is a different photo on my phone than the one on the camera.

This is me outside the St David’s Cathedral in Wales, I would like to be the king one day and give orders and I would like to make the services in this cathedral and smile and chat to people.

My very own spot

This is a picture of my own garden that I have in Coleg Elidyr. My tutor gave me this spot for me to fill with whatever flowers and painted stones that I wanted. I use gardening as a coping strategy and relax every time I am weeding about the College. This is the start of my project, by next year I hope to have this space looking beautiful with plants and flowers.
