Creative ways for building connections and friendships and how the I-Team approach is helping people plan a good life.
Do you want to join in with discussions that look at how people with a learning disability can be more connected, have friendships and relationships, and a good life?
Please join us for our second Connections Cymru network meeting.
At this meeting, we will be joined by:
Our Social Networks
Hear about what Mencap Cymru’s project Our Social Networks found out over 3 years. They collected many stories from people with a learning disability that revealed how important friendships and relationships are and some of the barriers for people having them. Their final report makes recommendations for helping people to find and build strong friendships and relationships. Join in with discussions to consider different ways we might all work together to make things better for people in the future.
Anna Suschitzky, Storytelling Development Lead
Sian Davies, Head of Strategic Programmes and
Paul Hunt, Mencap Cymru
I-Team approach
Hear about how the I-Team approach is helping people plan a good life. The I-TEAM’ approach (based on ‘circles of support’) is a life-changing approach where people with a learning disability are supported through friends and professionals to plan their life where the person is at the centre.
Mark John Williams, Co-Director of Flintshire DO-IT

Marie James a family carer.
