Learning Disability Wales Annual Conference 2023

This year our conference was on the theme of health and well-being of people with a learning disability. 

We know that people with a learning disability tend to have poorer health compared to those without a learning disability, and are at greater risk of developing various health conditions. Much of this can be prevented by things like:

  • Annual health checks
  • Promoting accessible health
  • Specialist training for health and social care
  • Better access to healthcare
  • Support to lead more active and socially engaged lives
