From this week, adults (18 and over) who have Down’s syndrome are to be added to the group of people who are classed as ‘clinically extremely vulnerable’. This means that they have been classed as at higher risk from coronavirus. The decision has been agreed across all four nations of the UK by their Chief Medical Officers.
On 3 November this announcement has been made in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

In Wales the Welsh Government is due to make the announcement imminently. The Down’s Syndrome Wales and Learning Disability Wales have been assisting Welsh Government with the letter that is due to go out in the post to adults with Down’s Syndrome in Wales. The letter will be in easy read.
